Rihanna

Rihanna hasn’t released a studio album since 2016, but she has been quite busy with the fashion industry. The genre-bending icon founded cosmetics company Fenty Beauty in 2017, which expanded the following year into lingerie line Savage X Fenty. “Before she was BadGalRiRi: music, fashion and beauty icon, Robyn Rihanna Fenty was a little girl in Barbados transfixed by her mother’s lipstick,” Fenty Beauty’s about page reads. The annual star-studded Savage X Fenty fashion show has become as much of a must-watch pop culture event as a Rihanna concert—earning an Emmy nod last year.

The singer’s first foray into fashion landed her in a high-profile collaboration with athletic brand Puma and her empire has been growing ever since. She most recently dropped a size-inclusive lingerie line with Savage, complete with everything from basic bras to 50 Shades or Grey-esque pieces.

Beyoncé

There was an iconic moment in fashion history when Queen Bey herself released her athleisure line Ivy Park in 2016. Topshop collaborated with the singer on the line, who announced the launch with her own magazine cover for Elle. Unfortunately, due to accusations of sexual harassment and racial abuse at the company, Beyoncé effectively took back Ivy Park and is relaunching the line with Adidas. The new pieces will include shoes, performance gear, and lifestyle apparel.

Victoria Beckham

After the end of her carreer as singer in the girl group Spice Girls, Victoria Beckham made her way from arena tours to the runway. Beckham had a brief solo career before launching her own line in 2008 and has become a powerhouse designer ever since. She is arguably the most successful celebrity to break into the luxury fashion world as a designer. The star often rocks her own designs in public and hosts a fashion show every season. You can find her polished pieces at luxury retailers like Net-a-Porter, Mytheresa, and Farfetch, as well as her own website.

Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney is one of Sir Paul McCartney’s daughters, but she has done well to make a name for herself far outside her Beatles-fronting father. The fashion designer has a very successful self-titled fashion line that has appeared on the industry’s most coveted runways. As an added bonus, McCartney partnered exclusively with Taylor Swift to create merch surrounding the 10-time Grammy-winner’s 2019 Lover album. That partnership continued into a one-off line of sustainable pieces.

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber launched streetwear label Drew House alongside his longtime friend Ryan Good in January 2019. The clothing is inspired by skateboard culture—sometimes selling customized Drew skate decks. The smiley-face logo, cartoonish casual wear, and corduroy outfit sets are distinctive enough to sell out nearly every new drop.

Kanye West

In February 2015, West debuted this clothing line Yeezy Season 1 with Adidas to rave reviews. For follow up collections, he even made it on to the New York Fashion Week schedule, though not without some drama, showing a mix of neutral-colored streetwear and footwear. The 21-time Grammy winner produced one of the more grandiose pop culture moments in recent memory when he debuted his Yeezy Season 3 capsule alongside his Life of Pablo album at Madison Square Garden in 2016.

Emily Ratajkowski

Model Emily Ratajkowski has a thing for beach vibes—and just one look at her pics from dozens of sandy destinations on Instagram proves it. That’s why, when she launched her swimsuit line, Inamorata, in 2017, the whole thing made perfect sense. The collection includes slinky suits, priced from $75 for single items to $160 for one-piece options, and they all give us a glimpse into Ratajkowski’s creative design skills.

Melissa McCarthy

The “Gilmore Girls” alum introduced her size-inclusive line in 2015 on Home Shopping Network, and it quickly expanded into a lucrative brand. McCarthy may have a successful acting career, but she actually moved to New York to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology, so it makes total sense she would eventually circle back to her first love.
